Throughout North America and the world, there is ongoing crisis after crisis. The divorce rate is increasing…there is a rise in latch-key children and single parent homes…domestic abuse is less quietly contagious…copy-cat gangs and violence threaten once peaceful innercity neighborhoods….and that is just America. Around the world there are not less than 100 wars currently being fought, some of them between assailants who dare to profess the same religion. Poverty and starvation is on the rise, while the affluent squander their wealth to impress each other with extravagant luxuries and lofty buildings. Yet, in spite of all these negativities, there is still a glimmer of hope…a possibility for world peace. What is missing from this picture? I would say more propagation of God-consciousness…by you and me! |
All of the world’s major religions agree that every single human being on this earth came from one male and one female. Each and every one of us are brothers and sisters, with an array of talents, skills, and persuasions…each with the potential to contribute to the betterment of humanity. We have physicians, attorneys, engineers, educators, scientists, theologians, builders, industrialists, laborers….you name it, we’ve got it! As a human race, we have everything…except each other!.
Let’s stop the madness and galvanize our respective efforts to at least make an impact on WORLD PEACE. I invite you to stand with Shades of White in our quest to enhance the noble efforts of MANA, Zaytuna Institute, ICNA, ISNA, MAS, CAIR, Islamic Relief, Helping Hands, United for Change, Mosque Cares, Center for Islamic Counseling and Guidance, Islamic Learning Institute, Innercity Muslim Action Network, Muslim Legal Fund of America, and others to get on the same page and be the band of people who emphatically rise up to enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong….in a most effective and meaningful way (Holy Qur’an Ali Imran 3:104)
Throughout the ages, the color white has been generally accepted as a symbol of purity. There are many shades of white, just as there are many levels of purity as well as purity of intentions. This observation is directly related to my niyyah (intention) for wearing only white, regardless of the occassion. My white clothing is my personal expression of my niyyah, and hopefully my taqwa (fear of displeasing God and respect for His Divine Presence). My niyyah is to serve humanity in the purest way I possibly can, through energetic motivation, counseling, da’wah (propagation), and fundraising your your local efforts. I am here to serve. Just call me!
Just call me.
